DESCRIPTION: This workshop explores recurring themes raised by adults who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and who use support services in their communities. Such themes include residential options, attendant services, accessibility to health, social, and legal community services, abuse experiences, equality and human rights. The workshop will share information and resources to foster self-direction, advocacy and control in youth and adults who use AAC.

DESCRIPTION: ACCPC works with an organization to customize a training program that ensures that communication strategies and tools are a naturally integrated part of people’s lives. Together with the organization, ACCPC develops standards of practice around communication for consumers, provides consultation and workshops for staff.
