About the Team

Project Coordinator: Barbara Collier

Barbara is the executive director of ACCPC. She has worked for over 25 years in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) as a speech language pathologist and clinical educator. She has coordinated a number of projects relating to social justice issues for people who use AAC.


Consultant on Disability Issues: Fran Odette

Fran is the Program Manager of the Women with Disabilities and Deaf Women's Program at Springtide Resources Inc. (formerly Education Wife Assault). She is a trainer/educator on issues impacting women with disabilities such as violence, access to services, sexuality and body image. Previously, Fran was the Sexual Health Educator on the Speak Up Project with ACCPC.


Legal Consultant: Pam Cross

Pamela Cross is a feminist lawyer who has worked extensively with women experiencing violence. One of her areas of expertise is in developing plain language legal information. She has worked extensively with women from marginalized communities, including women with disabilities and Deaf women, in the development of these materials. Pamela has recently left her position as Legal Director of the Metropolitan Action Committee on Violence Against Women and Children/the Ontario Women's Justice Network where she was responsible for law reform advocacy to pursue work as an independent consultant.
