Tips for Parents

Parent should really be friends with their siblings but not with their kids. Parents get to lay down the law. They keep their daughters and sons safe by talking.

If your son or daughter has boyfriend or has girlfriend they need to talk to you openly about having safe sex.

Please let your non-speaking teenager make their own choices.

Boys and girls should be told to check in with their parents to say where they going for their safety.

Mother ands fathers should treat grown-up son and daughters with physically handicapped the same as non-physically handicapped brothers and sisters. Their feelings are jumping around just like their brothers and sisters.

Dads and Moms and teachers should teach them to help them learn about their sexuality.

They should have privacy.

Parents should go to meetings designed for parents about sexuality and teens. Teens should go to meetings designed for teens who want to know about sexuality. They can learn a lot from other adults with disabilities.

Parents should give pictures or blissymbols about sex to their child. It was painful for me to have questions in my head. I didn’t have ways to ask the questions.
