My Nurse Hit Me

I was hit 3 times on the chest by a nurse and she said bad, angry things.

It happened because I accidentally hit her chest with my hands. This was part of my cerebral palsy and she thought it was deliberate.

She told me not to tell anyone – she threatened me that she would be more angry if I told.

For a full year I was upset and worried about her – I lost my appetite.

Finally, I told my mother. She helped me.

She went to the supervisor and the nurse was relocated to another floor.

After 6 months, the supervisor told me she had “done it again” to someone else. She was fired.

They apologized to me after she did it the second time. I don’t think they believed me the first time.

It took me a year to feel happy, to be confident again and get gain my appetite back.

I am a strong willed person –I worry about what happens to other people.
