  • Learning and communicating about sexuality:
    • Body parts for both sexes (medical and non-medical terms)
    • Healthy body image
    • Boundaries of touch and privacy
    • Human sexuality, reproduction and the birth process
    • Recognizing and communicating “No” to unwanted touch.
    • Knows about diversity and range of sexual orientation and identities
    • Menstruation and nocturnal emission
    • Sexual pleasuring and intimacy
    • Masturbation and sexual feelings
    • Relationship development (platonic, dating, commitments , child rearing etc.)
    • Birth control and sexually transmitted infections.
    • Communicating consent and non-consent

  • Learning and communicating about safeguarding:
    • Human rights and dignities
    • Personal privacy
    • Boundaries and touch practices with strangers, acquaintances, friends, family members etc.
    • Safety awareness and skills relative to activities of daily living – eating, drinking, being in a known/unknown community, meeting strangers etc.
    • Dealing with conflict
    • Negotiating consent
    • Developing a personal safety plan.
    • Healthy and unhealthy relationships in imagined and real life scenarios.
