Communicating with Me

Speak Up 2003

This display contains some phrases, which AAC users can use to provide feedback on how a person is communicating with them. The AAC user may want to tell the speaking partner that he/she needs more time to communicate, that he /she should read how the AAC user communicates or see someone else communicating with them.

Example of use:

Mary used this display to tell her counselor not to interrupt and guess what she was trying to communicate on her display. She pointed to "Please don't guess what I mean". The counselor was not aware that he had been doing this and immediately stopped guessing and gave her time to finish her messages.
