Making Decisions about Abuse

The Picture Communication Symbols ©Copyright 1981-2002, Mayer-Johnson, Inc.

This display contains the vocabulary to communicate about options for dealing with situations of on-going or past abuse (e.g. I don't want the person to work with me, I want to move somewhere safe, I want to file a police report etc.)

Example of use:

Joyce wanted to know her options. Using this page, the counselor pointed to each item and read aloud the caption. Joyce considered her options and each option was discussed in detail. She clearly indicated that she wanted the service agency to replace her current service provider.
